Trio
ESJ are Eva Reiter,
Susanne Fröhlich and Jorge
Sánchez-Chiong. The group devotes itself to contemporary
music
inspired by club and rock music as well as industrial noise. The
three musicians integrate composed new music, improvisation,
electroacoustic and electronic classical music into their own
interpretative work.
Eva
Reiter
- Recorder and viola da gamba
Reiter's
compositions are a balancing act
between purely acoustic and electronic music. Her material generates
an illusion of electronic sounds with a complex internal structure,
achieved through simple means. She has given numerous concerts as a
soloist and performs with various baroque orchestras including
De
Nederlandse Bachvereenigung, Ensemble Mikado,
Le Badinage,
Unidas and ensembles for contemporary music (Ictus, Klangforum Wien,
Trio Elastic3, Duo BAND and others).

Recorder
Fröhlich's
performs as a soloist and with ensembles including QNG –
Quartet
New Generation (Recorder Quartet) and U3 (baroque trio). She has been
involved in successful concerts within and outside of Europe, as well
as numerous premieres in renowned concert halls and festivals with
Ensemble Adapter, Ictus and the Neue
Vokalsolisten Stuttgart. She lives and works in Berlin, teaching at
the Universität der Künste.

Jorge
Sánches-Chiong
– Turntables
The
work of the Cuban-Chinese composer Jorge Sánches-Chiong,
alias JSX,
has been described as 'acoustic classy debris', 'a sensual virtuosic
play of colours', 'disturbing', 'hyper fast' and 'masterly' by German
critics (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Die Presse, Standard). His
oeuvre, which applies the vitality and spontaneity of improvisation,
breaks the mold of concert music and extends into areas of
experimental theatre, video art, dance and electronics.
Sánchez-Chiong is a member of the NewTonEnsemble and
co-founder of
the composer group Gegenklang.
